Forklift Masts

Masts are determined by the specific type of mast, the lift height, the mast freelift and the lowered height. The mast lowered height is measured by the height of the top of the mast from the floor when the mast is fully lowered, whereas the lift height refers to the distance from the floor to the top of the upper fork surface once the mast is fully extended. Available as full freelift, limited freelift and zero freelift, masts have lots of options. These freelift options are available in single, 2, 3, or 4 stage masts. Freelift allows loads to be lifted and manoeuvred in areas where overhead clearance could be restricted.

The term freelift describes the amount of vertical fork movement that occurs before the telescoping mast section begins its extension from the top of the mast. A full freelift mast lets the forks elevate to the top of the mast inner section before the mast sections commence elevation. A limited mast allows for partial fork movement before the mast sections elevate. A zero freelift mast begins extention at the same time the forks start to lift.
